Dr Kaczander is one of six physicians in the country who was asked to participate in a research program sponsored by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, entitled...."A Multi Center Retrospective Review of Resectional Arthroplasy, Arthrodesis, and Hemi-Metallic Joint Implants in the Surgical Treatment of  End Stage Hallux Limitus"

Dr Galea recently returned from the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association's Annual summer meeting at the Crystal Mountain Resort.

Dr Kaczander recently returned from Denver where he attended an Advanced Reconstruction Course for Foot and Ankle surgery

Dr Mehler recently returned from the American Podiatric Medical Association's National meeting in Seattle, Washington.

Spring 2010

Dr Kaczander Dr Kaczander was interviewed today on Fox 2 News on the popular Ugg boots, and their affect on lower extremity problems

The Michigan Foot and Ankle Center is pleased to welcome Joshua S. Faley, DPM to our group. Dr Faley is scheduled to complete a 3 year residency in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, diabetic limb salvage, and trauma at the Detroit Medical Center on June 30. He is well trained in all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery. Dr Faley will begin providing patient care on July 12. New patients are always welcome!

Congrats to Dr Faley for passing his examination and becoming Board Qualified, while working toward Board Certification by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

After attending the American Podiatric Medical Associations Annual Meeting, Dr Mehler is investigating new and exciting advanced technologies for the treatment of fungal nail infections.

Dr Galea lectured to the local community, with Vascular Surgeon, Dr. Jon Iljas, on diabetic lower extremity conditions, and their prevention.

Dr Kaczander lectured to all of Beaumont Hospital interns and residents on diabetic limb salvage, and will be providing another lecture soon on common foot and ankle pathologies.

Dr Kaczander recently completed the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon, finishing in the top 25% for all runners.

Congratulations to Podiatric Medical Assistants Jill, Jan, Joan, Barb, Carla and Sue for passing their exam and becoming Certified Shoe Fitters for the Michigan Foot and Ankle Center

Dr Kaczander recently worked with the State of Michigan, Dept of Community Health, regarding improving infection control practices in ambulatory care facilities. The study was conducted to understand the potential influence of infection control practices on the emergence of antimicrobial resistant organisms.
