Fall 2004

Drs Mehler, Kaczander and Galea will be continuing their monthly lectures to the Diabetes Education Classes at Wm. Beaumont Hospital, along with their ongoing active involvement in podiatric residency training at Botsford General Hospital.

Fall 2004

Dr. Mehler continues to serve as the chairman of the examination committee for the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, a position he has held since 1997. Dr. Mehler is one of only seven podiatrists in Michigan to be granted Fellowship status by the American Academy of Podiatric Sportsmedicine and the only one in the greater Detroit area.

Fall 2004

Dr. Galea has been appointed the podiatric consultant for the Athletic Recovery System, a new program to enhance the treatment of youth soccer injuries in metro Detroit, as he begins his 7th year as Team Podiatrist for the Livonia Stevenson High School Soccer Team. In addition, Dr. Galea has been named the podiatric consultant to the Michigan Hawks/Wolves soccer club.
Dr. Galea also has been named the podiatric consultant to the Special Olympics for the State of Michigan, and will be attending a conference with other state representatives in Salt Lake City in October.

Fall 2004

Dr. Kaczander has written an article, entitled "Systemic Causes of Heel Pain", to be published this fall, for the national journal "Biomechanics". Dr. Kaczander has also been appointed to serve on the Journal Managerial Committee for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and is in training for the upcoming Detroit Free Press Marathon! Dr. Kaczander was also recently voted one of the five "top docs" for podiatry, by "Hour" magazine, a monthly metropolitan Detroit publication!
